Young Scientists Award Program
The Young Scientists Award program is designed to encourage research and development of able young scientists under age of 40 with excellent achievements so that they can play a leading role in the 21st Century.
The winners are presented with a Presidential citation and a prize money of a 150 million-won (USD160000). The Award is administered in the following fields:
* Awards in Natural Sciences
Group 1: Mathematics
Group 2: Physics
Group 3: Chemistry
Group 4: Life Science and Biotechnology
* Awards in Engineering
Group 1: Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering, Information/ Communications
Group 2: Mechanical, Metal, Ceramic and Aerospace Engineering, Naval Architecture, Industrial Engineering,
Electronic Materials Engineering
Group 3: Chemical, Food, Polymer, and Textile Engineering, Biotechnology, Industrial Chemistry
Group 4: Architecture, Civil, Environmental and Urban Engineering, Mineral Resources Engineering
KAST Awards
To recognize one¡¯s scientific research achievement, the KAST Science and Technology Awards are given to the internationally known distinguished Korean scientists or engineers. The awards are granted annually with a KAST Presidential plaque and 5 million-won (USD5000).
Other Awards administered by KAST
KAST confers various awards, including Dukmyuong-KAST Engineering Awards, Halst-KASST Life Science Awards and DuPont Science and Technology Award, which was trusted by S&T organizations.
